The tallest LEGO sets of all time – November 2023

They may not be the biggest builds, mostly, but some impressive LEGO sets are also the tallest, including the new 76269 Avengers Tower.

The LEGO Group’s line of massive models feature sets that expand in all manner of directions, including width, length and height. The latter is the focus of this list and seems to have been a personal goal for the LEGO Group’s designers in recent years. The recent reveal of 76269 Avengers Tower has shaken things up too, moving a couple of sets out of the top 10 entirely.

From LEGO Harry Potter to a range of Marvel modular buildings, here are the tallest LEGO sets of all time as of November 2023.

10 – 71040 The Disney Castle

Theme: Disney Price: £309.99 / $349.99 / €349.99 Pieces: 4,080 Height: 74cm Available: Now

The original LEGO Disney castle takes the bottom spot at 74cm tall, moving 71741 NINJAGO City Gardens and 10237 Tower of Orthanc out of the list as they were tied for tenth place. 71040 The Disney Castle has since been revisited with a bigger and much different model.

9 – 76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank Collectors’ Edition

Theme: Harry Potter Price: £369.99 / $429.99 / €429.99 Pieces: 4,803 Height: 75cm Available: September 1, 2023

76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank Collectors’ Edition manages to secure a spot on the list thanks to its unique build. Alone, Gringotts is nowhere near tall enough for the list but when stacked on top of the underground section, it weighs in at 75cm tall and one of the biggest LEGO Harry Potter sets available.

8 – 43222 Disney Castle

Theme: Disney Price: £344.99 / $399.99 / €399.99 Pieces: 4,837 Height: 80cm Available: Now

The newer LEGO Disney castle, 43222 Disney Castle swaps out Mickey and his friends for Disney princesses and princes and adds 6cm to its height too. Available now on the official online store, the 2023 LEGO Disney castle is still not the tallest LEGO set ever made – not by a long way.

7 – Daily Bugle

Theme: Marvel Price: £299.99 / $349.99 / €349.99 Pieces: 3,776 Height: 82cm Available: Now

The original LEGO Marvel modular building stands at 82cm, putting it just above 43222 Disney Castle. Featuring a variety of unique minifigures and exclusive characters, this set is inspired by Marvel comics and is compatible with the Modular Buildings Collection, though is much taller than its sets.

6 – 76269 Avengers Tower

Theme: Marvel Price: £429.99 / $499.99 / €499.99Pieces: 5,201 Height: 90cm Available: Now

76269 Avengers Tower is just taller than 76178 Daily Bugle and the biggest of the Marvle modular buildings. It’s also the most recent addition to this list and is based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe instead of the comics.

5 – 10303 Loop Coaster

Theme: Icons Price: £344.99 / $399.99 / €399.99 Pieces: 3,756 Height: 92cm Available: Now

LEGO 10303 Loop Coaster lifestyle 2 featured 1024x576

10303 Loop Coaster is one of the most functional models on this list and stands at 92cm tall. It’s one large structure featuring an elevator to transport the coaster cars to the top of a steep drop makes it one of the top five tallest LEGO sets of all time.

4 – 42146 Liebherr Crawler Crane LR 13000

Theme: Technic Price: £579.99 / $699.99 / €679.99 Pieces: 2,883 Height: 99cm Available: August 1, 2023

While it will depend on how you display it, the official listing for 42146 Liebherr Crawler Crane LR 13000 has the set at 99cm tall. That makes it one of the biggest LEGO Technic sets of all time as well as nearly the tallest model. However, while it is only a few spots from the top, it’s only two-thirds the height of the tallest entry.

3 – 92176 NASA Apollo Saturn V

Theme: Ideas Price: £104.99 / $119.99 / €119.99 Pieces: 1,969 Height: 100cm Available: Now

At an even 100cm, the retired 92176 NASA Apollo Saturn V is a re-release of the original LEGO Ideas model, but we’ll consider them as one spot since the builds are identical. This realistic depiction of the rocket can be split into stages and some of 1,969-piece count goes towards a pair of miniature dioramas.

2 – 10181 Eiffel Tower

Theme: Creator Expert Price: £149.99 / $199.99 Pieces: 3,428 Height: 108cm Available: Retired

Taking a trip to Paris, France, the retired 10181 Eiffel Tower is the first of two similar entries at the top of the list, measuring 108cm tall. It’s simplistic structure is nothing like its remake, though it looks more traditionally LEGO-like.

1 – 10307 Eiffel Tower

Theme: Icons Price: £554.99 / $679.99 / €629.99 Pieces: 10,001 Height: 149cm Available: Now

10307 Eiffel Tower will likely be sitting at the top of this list for a long time to come at a staggering 149cm. It’s also one of the biggest LEGO sets of all time at 10,001 pieces. With the holiday season approaching, it might as well be a replacement for your Christmas tree.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.

Is there any reason the 10268 Wind Turbine isn’t on the list? It’s a metre tall when a blade is pointing straight up..
