There are likely two ways to get all 12 LEGO Series 26 minifigures

LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 26 will be released on May 1 and there are perhaps only two ways to make sure you collect all 12 – the Brick Search app and The Minifigure Store.

Series 26 is themed around LEGO Space and includes some minifigures that are destined to be collectors’ items – such as Blacktron Mutant, Ice Planet Explorer and M-Tron Powerlifter. All three are based on classic minifigures from the past and have been reimagined for a new series. You can find out more about all 12 Series 26 minifigures here.

But Series 26 is once again in blind packaging – boxes in fact, not even foil bags that you can feel to try and make out the shape of a chainsaw or a little dog. That means it is difficult to know what minifigure you’re getting before you open the box. Difficult, but not impossible…

There look like being two ways to get around the LEGO Group’s use of blind packaging. One is to pre-order from The Minifigure Store, where you can get either a complete set of 12 minifigures in grip seal bags – minifigures opened, removed from the box and shipped in a secure bag – or a box of 36 boxed mystery minifigures that virtually guarantees at least one copy of each minifigure. The other is the Brick Search’s app minifigure box scanner, which was introduced when Minifigures Series 25 came with data matrix codes on the base of the boxes. The minifigure scanner can read those codes and show you in the app which minifigure is in the box in seconds. There’s more information about the minifigure scanner here.

It’s not 100% confirmed yet but it seems those codes are back for Series 26 and the Brick Search team is working on confirming them and getting them into the app, ready for May 1. A box of 36 minifigures from The Minifigure Store costs £124.99, while a collection of 12 minifigures is £59.99 – down from £69.99. Pre-orders of boxes of 36 will be shipped between April 30 and May 7, while pre-orders of a collection of 12 minifigures will ship between May 1 and May 15.
