Four LEGO Star Wars rumours we feel confident about

Following a flurry of LEGO Star Wars reveals and a brand new webpage for the 25th anniversary of the theme, we dug into some rumours that we feel pretty confident about.

The LEGO Group has published a lot of information about its plans to celebrate the 25th anniversary of LEGO Star Wars, from a collection of fun facts, a dedicated webpage, and (most excitingly) a range of new set listings on LEGO.com, available to pre-order now. This has revealed some exciting clues about to expect, so we decided to look back over the rumours that we’ve had so far and pick out a few that we think are getting increasingly likely.

Of course, it’s worth noting that none of the following rumours are confirmed yet. Until we get official confirmation from the LEGO Group, there’s no way of knowing whether these sets are truly on the way. Nonetheless, let’s dive in.

75388 Jedi Bob’s Starfighter

The LEGO Group gathered together some fun facts about the history of LEGO Star Wars and the very first one on the list gave us our very first clue: “The Jedi Bob minifigure appears in just one LEGO set, the 7163 Republic Gunship from 2002.”

For those who don’t know who Jedi Bob is, we’ve got a handy guide for you here, but he’s a well-loved figure for many LEGO Star Wars fans – so well-loved in fact that he’s now rumoured to be getting his own set: 75388 Jedi Bob’s Starfighter. The once-anonymous Jedi is believed to be yellow just like his original design and will reportedly make his return alongside one other character in the 310-piece set.

Considering the LEGO Group has taken the time to address an otherwise fairly niche figure from LEGO Star Wars lore, this is certainly adding more fuel to the fire of the 75388 Jedi Bob’s Starfighter rumour…

LEGO Star Wars 25th anniversary minifigures

With a dedicated section on the website dedicated to the LEGO Star Wars 25th anniversary minifigures, the LEGO Group has explicitly stated that there will be six special release minifigures, seemingly in addition to the limited edition minifigure that will be included in the LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary. There are a few clues out there about who exactly the mystery minifigure will be but, all in all, we’re feeling secure in our earlier reports that there will be six in total, with two already confirmed.

What’s more, seeing as the next minifigure reveal that the LEGO Group is hinting at is seemingly connected to 75383 Sith Infiltrator, that matches up with the next set that would logically be released from the list below, with the other sets believed to be coming out later this year or with unknown dates.

75383 Sith Infiltrator

Speaking of the Sith Infiltrator, the same webpage that dropped some clues about the anniversary minifigure also gave us a possible first look at the rumoured 75383 Sith Infiltrator. The silhouette certainly looks a lot like the prequel ship, with a couple of minifigures that could also belong to the reported set.

For now, nothing has been confirmed regarding 75383 Sith Infiltrator but, with a rumoured release date of May 2024 and the fact that the LEGO Group might already be dropping clues about it, a formal reveal could be just around the corner.

75398 Buildable C-3PO

Now, this rumour doesn’t necessarily have any further evidence for the fact that it’s on the way, but we’d say a confirmed and revealed 75379 R2-D2 means that the rumoured 75398 Buildable C-3PO could easily be on the cards. After all, we only just had a brick-built Artoo with 2021’s 75308 R2-D2 – so why another one so soon?

Well, perhaps the LEGO Star Wars team want to have the ultimate droid duo on shelves to the same scale. The rumoured piece count for 75398 Buildable C-3PO is 1,132, which aligns well with 75379 R2-D2’s 1,050 pieces. It’s all coming together…
