Time is running out to enter the FIRST LEGO League Ideas contest

Only a few days remain in the FIRST LEGO League Ideas contest, which may see the winner affecting the tournament forever with their custom mission model.

The FIRST LEGO League has teamed with LEGO Ideas for a contest that is soon to end its entry period. The competition, which sees more than 100 students take part annually, is looking for promising projects to inspire or include in future versions of the league. These are to be submitted as entries in the form of mission models.

You may theme your mission models however you so choose, but they must measure under 30cm tall, 30cm wide and 30cm long, only use LEGO pieces and not include any motors or sensors. For an example of what your entry should be and some inspiration for your submission, check out the contest page for an instructional video and the full rules.

With the specifics of the rules out of the way, what’s on offer for the winners of this LEGO Ideas contest?

Aside from possibly having your mission included in the league, the grand prize also features a virtual meet-and-greet with the FIRST LEGO League Robot Game Development Team, 45678 SPIKE Prime Set45680 SPIKE Prime Expansion Set, a FIRST LEGO League trophy, and a $100 LEGO.com voucher. It’s more than enough to make fellow builders jealous.

Runner-ups won’t be left out either with two other winners walking away with one of the trophies, 45678 SPIKE Prime Set and a $100 gift card. You’ve only got until May 27 to submit your entries so it would be wise to wrap them up and submit them as soon as possible.

Alternatively, you might want to enter another of LEGO Ideas’ many contests, with the most recent themed to the web-slinging Spider-Man and offering a copy of Marvel 76178 Daily Bugle as the prize. Time is also running out to vote for a future GWP in the coastal competition.
