Two more Marvel games coming in partnership with EA

The deal that revealed the EA Iron Man game has now been further clarified, revealing that two other games are coming from the partnership.

The Star Wars: Squadrons developers, Motive Studios, are currently at work on the upcoming Iron Man title. However, that’s not all that’s coming from the Electronic Arts Marvel deal as it has been officially announced that when they mentioned ‘several new games’, they were referring to a total of three.

As well as the Iron Man title from Motive Studios, two other Marvel games are coming from the EA partnership. Both will be, like the Iron Man game, available on PC and consoles. They will also all be a self-contained, original story in the Marvel Universe, though their genres and number of players may vary.

“We have been long-time fans of Marvel and their impressive leadership, so this is a remarkable moment for our developers as well as our players and fans,” said Laura Miele, chief operating officer at EA.

“We look forward to welcoming Marvel into the EA family of creators and know this collaboration will produce exceptional experiences for our players. We can’t wait to see players’ reactions when they suit up as Iron Man and do the extraordinary things this hero is known for.”

“At Marvel, we strive to find best-in-class teams who can take our characters on heroic journeys in ways they haven’t before and collaborating with Electronic Arts will help us achieve that,” commented Jay Ong, executive vice president at Marvel Games.

“We pride ourselves on being enthusiastic, creative collaborators with developers so they have the freedom to create something deeply unique and truly remarkable. The team at Motive is getting started on that with their Iron Man video game and we can’t wait for players to learn more in the far future.”

As stated in the above quote, don’t expect to hear anything official regarding the Iron Man title for some time.

Considering the LEGO Group’s partnership with Marvel, which has resulted in minifigures inspired by Marvel’s Avengers, these and other upcoming titles could offer further inspiration for LEGO Marvel sets in the future.
