US flag marks Independence Day at LEGOLAND California

An underwater US flag has been planted for Independence Day at LEGOLAND California Resort’s SEA LIFE Aquarium.

SEA LIFE Aquarium at LEGOLAND California Resort is getting ready for the most patriotic day of the year, with an underwater build now complemented with a blocky flag. The submarine and diver have been given a LEGO version of the stars and stripes, with a scuba diver popping underwater to install the model.

Of the various attractions at LEGOLAND California Resort, SEA LIFE Aquarium is currently the only one that’s open, with special measures in place to reduce the risk of coronavirus.

The LEGO flag is on display 17 feet below the tank’s surface. It took Model Builder Tim Sams more than 10 hours to build the 4 foot long flag using 2,400 LEGO bricks. It will be in place for the entire July 4 weekend.

In an unusual move, LEGOLAND has made products sold at the theme park – including exclusive sets – available to buy online from the attraction’s website.
