Win a LEGO Star Wars minifigure worth £23k for May the 4th

The LEGO Group has launched its third and final May the 4th sweepstake, offering the opportunity to get your hands on one of the rarest – and most valuable – LEGO Star Wars minifigures of all time.

From today until May 14, you can get your name in the hat for one of two sterling silver R2-D2 minifigures. Originally produced in 2018, only 10 of these minifigures are known to exist, and Minifigure Price Guide currently has them valued at an eye-watering $29,000 apiece. That’s roughly £23,000 – a pretty good return for 50 VIP points, which is the cost of a single entry into the sweepstake.

You can enter up to a total of 25 times (if you’ve got 1,250 VIP points handy) to maximise your chances of winning. The first name drawn will receive a graded sterling silver R2-D2 minifigure numbered 2 of 10, while the second name will receive number 6 of 10. Each minifigure is encased in Lucite and comes complete with a certificate of authenticity.

Eligible countries for this sweepstake include the UK, US, Canada (excluding Quebec), Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, the Republic of Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Switzerland and Slovakia.

Two other LEGO May the 4th sweepstakes are currently live in the VIP Rewards Centre: one for a bundle of LEGO Star Wars goodies, and another for a signed copy of 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer. The latter is free to enter, and you can take part once per day until May 7, so make sure to get your daily entries in to increase your odds of taking home the prize.

Keep track of all this year’s LEGO Star Wars deals – including VIP discount codes, three gifts-with-purchase and offers from across the web – with our May the 4th hub.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.

Hello, I was informed via Lego and checked by calling them and receiving a confirmation email that I am the lucky winner off 1 of the 10 R2D2.
I’m still in shock but it’s a piece I cannot afford to keep.
I’ve been in contact with various collectors mainly in the US and this collectors piece has to be enjoyed with someone else.
I absolutely love Star Wars, the original films. But I need to enjoy life.
I personally work in Healthcare, worked all through Covid-19 and very very tired. This exceptional piece will help me afford basic things again and actually have a holiday I’m dreaming off.
Soon will be put on sale, think it maybe the first one on public auction.
    starting price, wil be high…..
