You won’t want to miss retiring LEGO Marvel set next month
With a month to go until a highly-anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe series, one LEGO Marvel set should be on your radar before its retirement.
Of the hundreds of sets currently scheduled to retire in 2025, with dates subject to change over the next 10 months, the modular-compatible LEGO Marvel 76178 Daily Bugle should already be a top priority as a unique addition to any city display and with its array of comic-inspired exclusive minifigures.
As stated in our review, 76178 Daily Bugle is already incredible and set not one to miss before its retirement at the end of 2025 – provided that this date doesn’t change. Early in 2025 though, it’s even more desirable than usual thanks to two specific minifigures whose characters remain entirely exclusive to the set.

Both Daredevil and Punisher only appear as official LEGO minifigures in the £299.99 / $349.99 / €349.99 build as two of the 25 minifigures, though many more were originally planned. Though these minifigures are based on their appearances in Marvel comics, they tie nicely into the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series coming to Disney+ on March 4.

The release of these characters in the 2021 LEGO Marvel model is likely to have been fuelled by their increased popularity following their appearance in the original Netflix Daredevil series. The use of their comic outfits might be because the MCU versions are too violent for LEGO minifigures. That level of violence continues in the new series, possibly dissuading the LEGO Group from returning to the characters with updated MCU minifigures ever since.
Whatever the reason, 76178 Daily Bugle is home to the only minifigures of Daredevil and Punisher to date and it seems likely that we won’t be getting other minifigures of these characters for a while following the retirement of 76178 Daily Bugle. It wouldn’t be shocking to see the set’s popularity increase once the new series is released and people positively react to Daredevil again.
Whether you’re hoping to expand your modular display with a skyscraper or want the 18 exclusive minifigures of 25 in the set – including Punisher and Daredevil 76178 Daily Bugle is one not to miss before it retires at the end of 2025. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the set sell out for good before December too, like 75313 AT-AT did last November. Keep an eye on our dedicated retiring page in case the lifespan of the Marvel modular building is extended in the coming months.
