Brick by Brick LEGO exhibition arrives at the Harley Gallery
The Harley Gallery, near Sheffield in the UK, is hosting the LEGO exhibition Brick by Brick.
Located near Sheffield, The Harley Gallery in Welbeck has opened the Brick by Brick exhibition, which is touring around the UK this year. The LEGO art exhibition features 18 works by creatives from around the world. Each piece is distinct, with a mix of styles and subject matter.
On January 31 at 12.00pm, LEGO enthusiast and Gallery Coordinator, Carl Gibson will give a 30-minute walk and tour around the gallery.
Ekow Nimako, who lives in Canada, spent 280 hours building a model entirely in black elements inspired by Philip Pullman’s The Golden Compass. It is not the only piece inspired by a book, with David Hughes’ model based on Anthony Burgess’s A Clockwork Orange.
In David Turner’s Brick Gun there is a contrast between the violence of the weapon and the colourful bricks. The Belfast artist spent his formative years growing up in Northern Ireland during The Troubles.
The Brick by Brick exhibition will run at the Harley Gallery until April 19 and is free to visit.
