The LEGO Movie 2 wins at the Movieguide Awards
The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part has won the Best Movie for Families award at the 2020 Movieguide Awards.
While award season has not been generous to The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, the animated feature has won the Best Movie for Families award at the 2020 Movieguide Awards.
“It’s so fun to work on these movies because Trish [Gar, co-director] and I get to watch it with an audience as we’re working on it. There’s nothing cooler than looking at a dad laughing at one of our jokes and he looks down at his 8-year-old daughter and she’s laughing at the same joke,” Mike Mitchell told the Hollywood Reporter.
The LEGO Movie 2 sees Emmet and his friends on an adventure in space, as they encounter the moody and mysterious Rex Dangervest while travelling to the music-filled Systar System. Chris Pratt reprises his role as Emmet, with Elizabeth Banks voicing Lucy and Will Arnett voicing Batman.
The LEGO feature films so far have been released by Warner Bros., but the agreement has expired and Universal is now in talks to take over the franchise.
