There’s dino dung in one of the new LEGO Jurassic Park sets

The new range of LEGO Jurassic Park sets for the 30th anniversary features a first for the theme – buildable dinosaur dung.

LEGO models based on the original trilogy of Jurassic Park films have been limited so far, only totalling to three before 2023. Later this year, the LEGO Group will launch a collection of sets for the 30th anniversary of the original Jurassic Park.

One of those models is 76959 Triceratops Research, based on a memorable scene including a giant pile of poop. 76959 Triceratops Research also has a Triceratops, two minifigures and the iconic Jurassic Park Ford Explorer.

While the LEGO Group’s efforts to recreate this scene focus more on the car and the Triceratops, that same pile is featured in what may be the biggest dung model to date. There’s even a play feature to help identify what is making the Triceratops so ill.

The LEGO Group has a notably lengthy, though still recent, history with poop and 76959 Triceratops Research’s side build is just the latest, but by far the biggest depiction yet. It’s also possibly the most source-accurate entry.

Outside of 76959 Triceratops Research, the new range of LEGO Jurassic Park sets is an interesting assortment of new dinosaurs, fresh locations for sets and exclusive minifigures to collect. However, only one set has a dedicated dino dung model.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
