DnD fans are having a great time in the comments of LEGO’s set teaser

The LEGO Group dropped a teaser for its LEGO Ideas Dungeons & Dragons fans and the comments are serving up pure gold.

There are tons of references packed into the recently-released LEGO Dungeons & Dragons trailer if you know where to look, but the real party is happening down in the comments section. DnD fans have come from far and wide to quip about the upcoming release, and the LEGO Group is giving as good as it gets in response.

The general response has been overwhelmingly excited, with the teaser suggesting that a full reveal shouldn’t be too far off. This comes as LEGO DnD fever is ramping up, thanks to the rumours flying about a possible LEGO Collectible Minifigures series based on the franchise (even if this has not yet been officially confirmed).

That means the number one plea from most people in the comments has been begging for a release date – but with a DnD twist.

“I rolled Nat 20 for Investigation, when can I get the D&D sets?” asked one DnD fan on X, to which the LEGO Group only replied: “You sense a date on the horizon, but nothing more comes to you. For now, you must adventure on!” Apparently, even the cleverest attempts to get a confirmed release date will go unnoticed.

Another X user tried a slightly different tack: “Cast Detect Release Date”, only to get a similar response: “Nat 1, critical fail!”

If all else fails, try and fight your way out of a tight corner. Another commenter wrote: “Intimidation Roll: Gimme it!” Only for the LEGO Group to hold fast, replying: “Check failed. The Home of the Brick stands firm!”

These snappy commenters might not have managed to get any actual answers out of the LEGO Group, but their attempts certainly gave us and the other LEGO DnD fans in the comments a laugh. If you’re in the mood to speculate about when we might get the LEGO Ideas Dungeons & Dragons set, we’ve got our predictions for the entire LEGO Ideas line-up for 2024 here – and, if we’re right, LEGO DnD won’t be too far off. Here’s hoping…

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
