Every LEGO Harry Potter set required for a complete collection of golden minifigures

After a complete collection of LEGO Harry Potter 20th anniversary golden minifigures? Here’s every 2021 set you’ll need to get your hands on.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of its Harry Potter theme, which launched alongside the movie adaptation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in 2001, the LEGO Group has included a series of nine golden minifigures across its summer wave of Wizarding World sets.

Six of those are already available at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores, while three more will arrive in September. Here’s a full rundown of all the characters – and where to buy them.

Harry Potter – 76386 Hogwarts: Polyjuice Potion Mistake

Surprisingly, the smallest set of the latest LEGO Harry Potter wave will give you the golden boy wizard himself. With an entry price of just £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99, 76386 Hogwarts: Polyjuice Potion Mistake offers great value before you even consider the bonus golden character, so it’s a great starting point for building your 20th anniversary collection. Ron Weasley – 76388 Hogsmeade Village Visit

The only one of this summer’s minifigure-scale sets to follow the conventional format established by the 2018-2020 line-up – the rest either build into a new, modular-style Hogwarts or go in otherwise entirely new directions – 76388 Hogsmeade Village Visit is especially notable for its versatility, as it could also easily slot into a Winter Village line-up. Plus, it’s the set you need to bag golden Ron Weasley.

Hermione Granger – 76387 Hogwarts: Fluffy Encounter

Another addition to the new modular wizarding school, 76387 Hogwarts: Fluffy Encounter includes two Hermione Granger minifigures: one in her regular school uniform, and one that’s been given the Midas touch. Like the rest of the golden characters across these sets, she comes equipped with a golden wand and stands on a golden base.

Lord Voldemort – 76389 Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets

There’s nothing like immortalising wizard Hitler in gold – just ask the LEGO Group, which has cast the nefarious baddie in the same colour as the rest of the 20th anniversary minifigure line-up for 76389 Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets. This is technically not Voldemort’s only appearance in this list, but it is the only one based on his minifigure from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire onwards, post-resurrection.

Professor Snape – 76392 Hogwarts Wizard’s Chess

Fancy a game of chess? You’ll have to if you want to add Professor Snape to your 20th anniversary minifigure collection, because he’s available exclusively in 76392 Hogwarts Wizard’s Chess. Much of the summer wave of Harry Potter sets takes the theme to new and unexplored places (see 76393 Harry Potter & Hermione Granger), but this is the only non-minifigure-scale set available so far to include a golden character.

Professor Quirrell – 76395 Hogwarts: First Flying Lesson

Did we mention another Goldemort? You’ll find him on the back of Quirrell’s head in 76395 Hogwarts: First Flying Lesson. Just like the rest of the golden minifigures, Quirrell takes his cues from the modern Harry Potter designs, rather than the classic 2001 version (which also happened to be the first minifigure to feature a dual-sided head). The LEGO designers did originally consider going with those retro minifigures, though.

Professor Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall and Rubeus Hagrid – 76391 Hogwarts Icons Collectors’ Edition

When the first batch of golden Harry Potter minifigures was unveiled, Professor Dumbledore was most notable by the fact that he wasn’t there. The LEGO Group has now remedied that oversight by placing him alongside two more golden characters in the most expensive Harry Potter set of 2021, 76391 Hogwarts Icons Collectors’ Edition. Three minifigures isn’t a bad return in what otherwise looks to be an already-brilliant set, but it doesn’t come cheap at £229.99 / $249.99 / €249.99.

76391 Hogwarts Icons Collectors’ Edition launches on September 2, while the rest of the 20th anniversary Harry Potter sets are available now at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
