Every reference we’ve spotted in LEGO Krusty Burger (so far)

From coleslaw to a clown car, LEGO Icons 10352 The Simpsons: Krusty Burger is packed with references to the series – here’s every Easter egg we’ve spotted so far…

Like 71006 The Simpsons House and 71016 Kwik-E-Mart before it, 10352 The Simpsons: Krusty Burger – the first LEGO The Simpsons set to hit shelves in a decade – is flush with callbacks to the animated series. And while we’ll have to wait to get our hands on the set to thoroughly identify each and every Easter egg and reference, there are plenty visible in the official product images alone.

Check out the nods we’ve spotted so far below, and let us know if you’ve seen any others in the comments at the bottom of the page.

The Mother Nature Burger

Krusty the Clown’s unique outfit in 10352 The Simpsons: Krusty Burger hails from Season 20’s Coming to Homerica, in which the restaurateur launches a new veggie burger that immediately gives everyone food poisoning thanks to its tainted barley wheat. It’s one of two references to post-golden-age Simpsons moments that you’ll find specifically within the set’s seven minifigures…

Give me 700 Krusty Burgers

The order screen on the set’s drive-thru states that the next order on the docket is for 700 Krusty Burgers. That’s a nod to Season 5’s Boy-Scoutz ‘n the Hood, when Homer, Bart, Ned and Rod Flanders wind up adrift at sea – only to spot a Krusty Burger franchise on an unmanned oil rig. Homer bursts through the doors and cries: “Give me 700 Krusty Burgers!”

Krusty Burglar

A limp, already-dead Krusty Burglar is unfortunately not among the minifigure contingent in 10352 The Simpsons: Krusty Burger, but you can just about make out a poster referencing his omission in the image above. It’s not the first time the LEGO Group has acknowledged an absent minifigure or character through a sticker, and here it’s a nod to Season 6’s Homie the Clown, where Homer – while impersonating Krusty – takes the thief character just a little too seriously. (“Stop! Stop! He’s already dead!”)

My god, you’re greasy

One of the most unexpected references in 10352 The Simpsons: Krusty Burger is the overflowing grease trap around the back of the kitchen, complete with a shovel for Homer and Bart to fill the car trunk with grease (from Season 10’s Lard of the Dance). The only real bugbear here is that the duo use Marge’s station wagon for their grease heist, but the set instead includes the clown-themed version of Homer’s sedan.

Bob for Mayor / El Barto

A sticker on one of the exterior wall panels of 10352 The Simpsons: Krusty Burger features two classic Simpsons references in one: El Barto’s signature graffiti and a ‘Vote Sideshow Bob for Mayor’ sign, calling back to Season 6’s Sideshow Bob Roberts. “Mayor Quimby even released Sideshow Bob – a man twice convicted of attempted murder. Can you trust a man like Mayor Quimby? Vote Sideshow Bob for Mayor.”

Krusty Burger Coleslaw

Sitting high atop a shelving unit in the restaurant’s kitchen is a crate labelled ‘Krusty Burger Inc. Coleslaw, best by Feb 1994’. That’s a reference to the ‘slaw that Nelson, Dolph, Jimbo and Kearney launched at Principal Skinner’s house in Season 8’s Lisa’s Date with Density.

The return of the Ribwich

No Krusty Burger LEGO set would be complete without some kind of nod to the Ribwich, Springfield’s version of McDonald’s McRib, made infamous by Season 14’s I’m Spelling as Fast as I Can. You’ll find at least one but possibly two nods to the Ribwich in 10352 The Simpsons: Krusty Burger – the first is a stain on Homer’s shirt (there’s your second minifigure reference), and the second is a Ribwich-shaped sandwich inside the restaurant.

Homie the Clown

Remember when we mentioned Homer’s clown-themed sedan earlier? That vehicular makeover is itself pulled straight from Season 6’s Homie the Clown, right down to the questionable quality of the Krusty likeness emblazoned on the front of the grill (here represented by a sticker).

Let us know if you’ve spotted any other references in 10352 The Simpsons: Krusty Burger from the official images. You’ll be able to inspect every angle of the 1,635-piece set for yourself from June 1, when it launches for LEGO Insiders for £179.99 / $209.99 / €199.99. Don’t forget your day-one gift-with-purchase, too…

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
