First LEGO Star Wars 2023 sets officially revealed

The LEGO Group has unveiled the first wave of LEGO Star Wars sets arriving in 2023, which includes a brand new battle pack and the first TIE Bomber in two decades.

Just three brand new LEGO Star Wars sets are on the way in January 2023, as the LEGO Group will presumably continue to stagger the theme’s sets throughout the first half of the year, as per 2021 and 2022. And just like this year – when 75321 The Razor Crest Microfighter, 75320 Snowtrooper Battle Pack and 75322 Hoth AT-ST landed on shelves – those will consist of a Microfighter, a battle pack and a larger vehicle.

Check out all the images and set details below.

75344 Boba Fett’s Starship Microfighter

Price: £8.99 / $9.99 / €9.99 Pieces: 85 Minifigures: 1 Release date: January 1, 2023

Scaling back Slave I even further than 75312 Boba Fett’s Starship, this chibi rendition of the Firespray-class ship is based on The Book of Boba Fett, so includes the same minifigure from 75312 and 75326 Boba Fett’s Throne Room – only without a rangefinder, for some reason. With only 75344 Boba Fett’s Starship Microfighter revealed for 2023, we’re seemingly still at one Microfighter per year, following 2022’s 75321 The Razor Crest Microfighter.

75345 501st Clone Troopers Battle Pack

Price: £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99 Pieces: 119 Minifigures: 4 Release date: January 1, 2023

The follow-up to 2020’s 75280 501st Legion Clone Troopers diversifies the squad with Battlefront II-inspired soldiers, including two 501st Heavy Troopers, a 501st Officer and a 501st Clone Specialist. They’re bundled together with a mini AV-7 cannon in 75345 501st Clone Troopers Battle Pack, a set that eschews Battle Droids to keep things at the same price point as last year’s 75320 Snowtrooper Battle Pack.

75347 TIE Bomber

Price: £59.99 / $64.99 / €64.99 Pieces: 625 Minifigures: 4 Release date: January 1, 2023

The first minifigure-scale TIE Bomber since 2003’s 4479 TIE Bomber, this 625-piece ship is a confusing mix of movies: the packaging clearly references The Empire Strikes Back, when the bombers pursue the Millennium Falcon through the asteroid field, but there’s a Return of the Jedi 40th anniversary logo on the box too. Minifigures for 75347 TIE Bomber include Darth Vader, a TIE Bomber Pilot, a Gonk Droid and, erm, Rae Sloane. Who wasn’t in either of those movies…

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then. You can follow me on Twitter at @brfa_chris.
