Five things LEGO enthusiasts can still look forward to in 2023

As well as the many new LEGO sets launching next week, there’s a lot to look forward to from the LEGO Group in 2023 that we’re still waiting for.

The first half of 2023 has been busy for the LEGO Group with the launch of new themes and reboots of others. While rumours and listings for next year’s builds are starting to surface, you should note that we’re not quite done with 2023 just yet and there’s a lot of content to get excited about.

From more episodes of an animated series to potentially another LEGO game with no details officially confirmed, here are five things that LEGO enthusiasts can still look forward to in 2023. Note that any rumours are just that and should be taken with caution until officially announced.

5 – More LEGO NINJAGO Dragons Rising

The next 10 episodes of LEGO NINJAGO Dragons Rising are confirmed to be released in autumn 2023 and there are a few sets we’ve yet to see in the animated series, including the likely important 71795 Temple of the Dragon Energy Cores.

4 – The rumoured 76269 Avengers Tower

The next LEGO Marvel modular building is also rumoured to arrive later this year as reports of 76269 Avengers Tower surfaced earlier this year. Rumoured details include 22 minifigures and 5,261 pieces. However, it has not been confirmed at this time.

3 –Two more waves of the LEGO 2K Drive Year 1 Drive Pass

The first Fast & Furious-adjacent wave of the Year 1 Drive Pass for LEGO 2K Drive is out now but according to the official timeline, we can expect two more waves before 2023 is done. There are no time limits on the Drive Pass, allowing you to earn cars, minifigures and more as fast or as leisurely as you’d like.

2 – The rumoured release of  LEGO 2K Goooal!

30629 Finnius Dash’s appearance on the certification page of LEGO.com preceded a listing for the rumoured LEGO 2K Goooal! game that is reportedly arriving in September 2023. However, this title has yet to be confirmed and the listed release date may be incorrect.

1 – A potential LEGO Dune set

A future LEGO Icons set is rumoured to be based on Dune, though the delay of its sequel may affect its reported release. The series has yet to be depicted officially in bricks but 10327 Ornithopter is still a rumour at this time.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
