Five things we spotted in the Thor: Love and Thunder teaser

Marvel Studios has finally revealed the first teaser for the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, which features plenty of intriguing details.

We got our first official glimpse of Thor: Love and Thunder today when Marvel Studios released the full teaser for this summer’s comic book blockbuster. The new MCU movie sees Chris Hemsworth’s Odinson taking centre stage once more, with a whole of host of returning and all-new characters making an appearance.

Now that we’ve had chance to digest the teaser and pick it apart, here are five interesting things we noticed in the Thor: Love and Thunder footage:

Russell Crowe as Zeus

Although we don’t get to see Christian Bale as Gorr, we do get a quick sneak peek at Russell Crowe’s Zeus. It appears that Thor may be taking something of a road trip in the movie, visiting a number of locations, including the home of other gods.

Thunderstrike

For a brief time in his Marvel comic book, Thor was merged with mortal architect Eric Masterson. He wielded a mace called Thunderstrike and sported a snazzy red leather waistcoat, similar to the one worn by Chris Hemsworth in the teaser.

The Guardians of the Galaxy

Yep, The Guardians are back, with the interplay between Chris Pratt’s Star Lord and Hemsworth’s God of Thunder as hilarious as ever. It’s not yet known how much the characters will be in the new movie, or if the film ties directly into the upcoming The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special this Christmas.

The Goat Boat

It looks as if the LEGO Group made a wise decision to release 76208 The Goat Boat, as the bizarre transportation makes a number of appearances in the teaser. Thor’s Stormbreaker has the ability to harness the energy of the Bifrost, enabling the Odinson to traverse space and other realms in the unusual craft.

The Mighty Thor

We also get our first glimpse of Natalie Portman’s returning Jane Foster, this time in the guide of her new alter ego, The Mighty Thor. The teaser shows that Mjölnir has been reconstructed (but not by whom) and Foster is now in possession of both the godly weapon and Thor’s powers.

Thor: Love and Thunder will be released on July 8. Both 76208 The Goat Boat and the officially revealed 76207 Attack on New Asgard will be available to purchase from April 26.
