Four things we’d like to see from LEGO’s Super Mario MAR10 Day event

The LEGO Group’s MAR10 day event is coming soon and there’s a lot that we could see from the event with expectations now set.

At 4pm UK time on Friday, March 10, the LEGO Group’s YouTube channel will host a Super Mario event with reveals and surprises in store. Since the reveal of this event, the LEGO Group has clarified that this will include a set reveal, but it won’t be an 18+ model.

Also featured will be a teaser for something else new. With expectations now set, here are four things that we’d like to see later this week. However, note that this is only speculative based on what the LEGO Group has teased.

4 – A new interactive figure

Following Mario, Luigi and Peach, another interactive figure could be on the way for LEGO Super Mario players to take through their course.

The 2022 MAR10 day saw the reveal of 71403 Adventures with Peach so there is some precedent for this. As for who is next, The Super Mario Bros Movie cast includes Toad and Donkey Kong, the latter of which has yet to be represented in the theme at all.

3 – An app and figure update

Whether it be a new feature, tools for course creation or another way to interact with Mario, Luigi and Peach, we’d like to see a large update to the app.

The software and the concept of the interactive figures launched three years ago, and it has remained relatively unchanged since then.

2 – A movie tie-in

The Super Mario Bros Movie arrives in early April and while the LEGO Group’s Super Mario efforts have only covered the games so far, some sort of tie-in through a set or reference could be interesting, especially since the movie features Mario Kart.

A set will be revealed during the event. However, keep those expectations in check as we don’t yet know for certain that the LEGO Group will acknowledge the film.

1 – A new subtheme

While LEGO Super Mario has had a few changes since it debuted in 2020, we’d argue that the biggest has been the reveal of the Luigi’s Mansion sets.

A second collection based on a different game within the franchise could be an interesting reveal for the event, though this may mean the reveal of multiple sets which has not been confirmed.
