Hear how LEGO 10295 Porsche 911 came together in virtual car meet for VIPs

The LEGO Group is hosting a virtual car meet for the newly-revealed 10295 Porsche 911, with LEGO and Porsche experts sharing stories behind the model’s design.

The event will take place on February 16, the same day the set goes on sale to VIP members. As a result, it will be open exclusively to those signed up to the company’s VIP program – but don’t worry if you’re not a member yet, as signing up is completely free.

LEGO Design Master Mike Psiaki, who was heavily involved in the development of the 2-in-1 10295 Porsche 911, will lead the session. He’ll be joined by Fabian Schmölz, Exterior Designer at Porsche, and Jörg Thilow, who works in product development at Porsche Heritage and Museum.

Over the course of the online session, you’ll be able to learn about the rich heritage behind the real-life Porsche 911, and hear how the LEGO design team converted the iconic design into a model you can build from 1,458 bricks.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
