LEGO 40450 Amelia Earhart Tribute available in the VIP Rewards Centre

LEGO 40450 Amelia Earhart Tribute – once a gift-with-purchase at LEGO.com – is now available to purchase in the VIP Rewards Centre, independently of any other sets.

Originally released as a freebie with qualifying orders of £100 / $100 / €100 in March, the recreation of Amelia Earhart’s red Lockheed Vega 5B stuck around for a comparatively long time for a GWP, to the point that the LEGO Group ended up extending the original promo period.

While it did eventually sell out back in March, however, surplus stock (or perhaps a fresh production run) of 40450 Amelia Earhart Tribute has now appeared in the VIP Rewards Centre. You’ll need to spend 1,500 points to redeem it, which is roughly equivalent to just under £10 / $10 / €10 in vouchers to spend on future purchases.

That’s still cheaper than the promo has been fetching on the aftermarket in the months since its release, though, with the average new price standing at £25.41 on BrickLink at the time of writing. If you have the points to spare, there’s basically never been an easier way to pick up 40450 Amelia Earhart Tribute.

You will technically have to place a separate order at LEGO.com to use the code once you’ve redeemed it, but it can be for literally any set you like – there’s no need to hit the previous threshold of £100 / $100 / €100. There’s no word on how many copies of the set are available in the VIP Rewards Centre, so best act fast if you want it.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
