LEGO Technic 42143 Ferrari Daytona SP3 is now available to purchase

The LEGO Group has released its fourth entry in the LEGO Technic Ultimate Car series, recreating a new Ferrari supercar for LEGO fans.

The LEGO Technic Ultimate Car Collection is a small but impressive range of LEGO Technic sets, launching in 2016 with 42056 Porsche 911 GT3 RS. It was followed by 42083 Bugatti Chiron and 42115 Lamborghini Sián FKP 37, which appeared in 2018 and 2020 respectively. Now 42143 Ferrari Daytona SP3 joins the fleet, drawing inspiration from an expensive new addition to the Ferrari lineup.

This new LEGO Technic set is aimed squarely at the older LEGO fan, as evidenced by its 3000+ piece count and high price. Interested parties must fork out £349.99 / €399.99 / $399.99 for the privilege, although you do get some impressive bang for your buck.

In addition to the classic red colour scheme and copious Ferrari branding, the LEGO set comes with a working gearbox and steering wheel. Its door can also open, and a V12 engine with working pistons really brings the set to life.

If you want a peek under the hood of the design process, the LEGO Group have even produced a coffee table book to accompany this set. 5007418 Ferrari Daytona SP3 The Sense of Perfection is also available now; according to the official description, it comes with 240 pages of photos, concept artwork and design insights. A slipcase allows you to keep it looking neat, which – given its £69.99 / $79.99 / €79.99 price tag – seems like a smart move.
