LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71046 Series 26 found in-store

A full box of LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71046 Series 26 has already been found ahead of the May release date, offering a closer look at the 12 Space-themed characters and confirming one important detail.

RealADemin on X has found a full box of 71046 Series 26 in the wild, a full month ahead of the latest Minifigures series’ official release date of May 1. As a result, the space-centric collection’s full cast has now had every detail showcased, including new elements, prints and more. There’s even a printed baseplate with stars across it for each character.

Most importantly, the X user has managed to confirm that the data matrix codes (mini-QR-style codes) are seemingly back just as they were for 71045 Series 25, meaning we should be able to identify the minifigure character in each box without opening it using Brick Search. Read more on this here.

Here’s a closer look at each new minifigure courtesy of RealADemin, although note that the names have not yet been officially confirmed and are only speculative at this time.

Modern astronaut

The modern astronaut uses a new piece to hold the equipment on their back and their head under the helmet features a female face. Prints on the wedge pieces feature a pair of joysticks to control their flight in space.

Mini aliens in minifigure suit

The new hair piece in the minifigure suit minifigure is confirmed to be detachable from the antennae and, as well as featuring a window into the head, an alternate face features a convincing smiling expression. This may be one of the most repeatable minifigures in the range to create subtle alien invasions in your displays and build up an army of miniature minifigure aliens. Two are included in the minifigure with printing on a green statuette element.

Alien tourist

The Alien Tourist is one of the more simple minifigures in 71046 Series 26 but the tropical shirt printing continues on the back of the torso, underneath the backpack. Using Brick Search to grab multiple of these minifigures could spice up the tourism industry in your LEGO city too.

Retro astronaut

The first look at the new retro astronaut minifigure reveals a ponytail on the back of their helmet and a smirking expression as an alternate face.

M-Tron man

You may want to collect multiple M-Tron minifigures with the help of Brick Search, be that to build up an army of these nostalgic space miners, update your 1990s M-Tron display, or even improve your LEGO Star Wars Coruscant Guards with those printed legs. The M-Tron minifigure in 71046 Series 26 has some of the best printing in the range, including on the sides of the legs. An alternate expression is also available and the new images offer a better look at the exclusive grabber arm element.

Robot nurse

The robotic nurse’s main attraction is undoubtedly going to be the exclusive pink Spacebaby, but this minifigure should prove an appealing character to get multiples of using Brick Search too to upgrade your LEGO hospital.

UFO costume

The new UFO costume blends perfectly with the new printed baseplate and though it’s not been confirmed how the UFO hat accessory attaches to the minifigure, we do know that Earth and the Moon are included on this minifigure’s back.

Ice Planet 2002 woman

As another minifigure you’ll mostly likely want to collect multiple of, the new Ice Planet 2002 minifigure includes printing on the torso that is hidden by the armour as well an alternate expression, hair piece and an orange transparent chainsaw, though it’s not the ideal hue. It’s worth noting that the torso is not the same as that of 80109 Lunar New Year Ice Festival either.

Classic robot

The classic robot minifigure isn’t quite as interesting as other minifigures in 71046 Series 26, though the similarly nostalgic printing on the back of the torso of a tape player taken straight from the old printed element pairs well with the new leg piece.

Alien insectoid

As well as being suitable, from certain angles, for Admiral Trench in LEGO Star Wars, the insectoid minifigure in 71046 Series 26 has some appealing printing on his wings and the head extends further back than previously expected.

Orion

The new Orion minifigure is almost completely transparent, only omitting the hips and torso for reasons previously explained. There’s a new club weapon with this minifigure and the constellation printing on the shield is a great touch.

Blacktron II man

While it may not be quite what you expected from a new Blacktron II minifigure, this unique entry into 71046 Series 26 is still interesting with its split face printing and for the return of the multiple-arm element.

The confirmation that the data matrix codes are sticking around hopefully means that the capability to identify individual characters without opening the boxes remains in place. Brick Search will verify and test the Series 26 codes before programming them into the app and then confirming publicly. Early indications are very positive, so in the meantime be sure to download Brick Search in anticipation of picking up one of each of 71046 Series 26, or indeed as many miniature green aliens as you need…
