Brick Search’s Series 25 minifigure scanner can take the frustration out of minifigure collecting

With 12 different minifigures in the LEGO Minifigures Series 25 range, finding the one you want can be a chore. But with Brick Search’s Series 25 minifigure scanner, it doesn’t have to be.

While the Series 25 minifigures may be in cardboard boxes rather than foil bags, it remains impossible to tell just by looking which minifigure is inside. And that’s a problem for collectors – you need to know if it’s what you want to add to your collection or not.

The cardboard boxes also negate the tried-and-trusted method of foil bag feeling, which has been one of the ways used in the past to tell minifigures apart. Other methods have included weighing the bags or boxes or simply opening them prior to purchasing.

Brick Search has a solution that trumps all of those, though. Simply take a Series 25 box, open Brick Search’s scanner – the blue button towards the bottom of the screen – and scan the data matrix code on the base. If it’s one of the larger data matrix codes used on the Series 25 range, Brick Search can tell you what’s inside the box, as the image below demonstrates.

Brick Search is available to download for iOS devices or Android devices, and can show you what’s inside a Series 25 minifigure box in just a few seconds (top tip: cover up the box’s barcode with something to make sure the scanner doesn’t accidentally read that instead!).

The app is free to download and use and only requires an internet connection to scan Series 25 minifigure boxes. And the scanner is not the only feature – take a look at the extensive LEGO back catalogue, or compare the prices on the sets you want to see where you can get the best deal with the price comparison tool.
