LEGO Marvel 76256 Ant-Man Construction Figure officially revealed
The LEGO Group has unveiled its first Marvel set based on Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but it’s probably not what you were expecting.
Based on the trailers for the threequel – which arrives in cinemas this Friday – you might have been expecting to see a tie-in LEGO set with Ant-Man, Wasp, Kang and maybe even MODOK minifigures. What we’ve got instead is 76256 Ant-Man Construction Figure, which takes its cues from last year’s 76206 Iron Man Figure and 76226 Spider-Man Figure.
It’s probably the most versatile of them all, though, because as well as being a brick-built figure to the same scale as Spidey, Iron Man and so on, this is technically also a minifigure-scale Giant Man. In that context, it makes perfect sense as a LEGO set, and maybe even more sense than any of Marvel’s other brick-built figures so far.
Minifigure collectors might still be ruing a missed opportunity to add Kang the Conqueror to their stable of superhero characters, but there’s at least a tiny Wasp microfigure to sweeten the deal. What’s less sweet is this set’s release date: despite Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania arriving in cinemas on February 17, you won’t be able to buy 76256 Ant-Man Construction Figure until May 1.
That’s quite some distance out from the film, so fingers crossed (for the LEGO Group’s sake) that there’s still enough interest in the dimension-busting sequel by the time the set is available to buy. With 289 pieces in the box, 76256 Ant-Man Construction Figure will retail for £29.99 / $29.99 / €34.99 when it launches in May.
There’s no word yet on whether more LEGO Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania sets will follow, and in turn our first LEGO Kang minifigure, so we might be waiting a while longer yet for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s new big bad…

- I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
