LEGO Group CEO joins businesses calling for climate action
In advance of the COP27 meeting in Egypt, the LEGO Group’s CEO has joined leaders in calling for action to enable a net-zero future.
CEO of the LEGO Group, Niels B. Christiansen, has joined more than 100 CEOs in the Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders in calling for action to accelerate government policies on climate action. The 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP27, is taking place in Egypt from November 6 to 18.
The Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders is a group of business leaders calling for governments to accelerate momentum towards a net-zero future by setting bold commitments and following through, driving down the green premium of low-carbon technologies for hard-to-abate sectors, investing in mitigation, adaption and a just transition and internationally harmonising reporting and disclosure standards.
In short, this alliance hopes to convince those attending the COP27 meeting to listen to their pleas and a full open letter has been shared.
The LEGO Group’s recent efforts towards sustainability include breaking the ground on a new carbon-neutral factory in Vietnam, as well as the upcoming paper bags replacing the plastic variety currently in sets.

- LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
