LEGO Ideas 21314 TRON: Legacy Lightcycle set officially announced

The newest Ideas set, 21314 TRON: Legacy, has been officially announced by the LEGO Group.

Last November, the TRON: Legacy project was confirmed as the next LEGO Ideas build that would become an official release. After teasing it on social media, the LEGO Group has officially announced 21314 TRON:Legacy and provided a whole bunch of images.

The set builds two lightcycles and a display base, with three movie authentic minifigures included. Priced at £29.99 , the model comprises of 230 pieces. TRON: Legacy was released in 2010, a sequel to the cult sci-fi classic, TRON. While it opened to mixed reviews, the movie was praised for its visual effects, unique aesthetic and Daft Punk soundtrack.

Brothers Drew and Tom designed the original Ideas submission. “We went through several models before settling on a design we both liked. We wanted to get the scale of the Light Cycle to minifigure right, and the overall colour scheme had to reflect the Tron feel,” they explained.
