LEGO Ideas 21327 Typewriter includes a note from a LEGO Group legacy

Despite not being able to actually type, LEGO Ideas 21327 Typewriter still includes an extra element to do with the written word.

The latest LEGO Ideas build to be released is 21327 Typewriter, with excellent attention to detail making it look incredibly close to the real-life machine. However, the brick-built typewriter can’t type a letter out like a traditional one can – but with an extra inclusion to the set, you don’t need to.

21327 Typewriter also includes a letter written and signed by Thomas Kirk Kristiansen, chairman of the LEGO Group and a fourth-generation member of the family which still privately owns the business to this day. In it, he refers to how his great-grandfather and founder of the LEGO Group, Ole Kirk Christiansen, used to use a typewriter just like the one you’re now able to build.

The inclusion of a letter is reminiscent of 10184 Town Plan, which included a letter from then-company owner Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen. Kjeld featured in the box for the original Town Plan set and returned to feature in the packaging of 20184 Town Plan as well.
