LEGO Ideas Exploring the Cosmos contest moves to judging stage

A pair of upcoming LEGO Ideas Insiders reward sets will now be chosen from the entries submitted to the Exploring the Cosmos contest.

The latest LEGO Ideas contest has now closed its doors to more entries, with the Exploring the Cosmos competition moving on to its first judging stage. Over 600 fan-designed model have been submitted, all of which are battling it out to become one of two future LEGO Ideas Insiders reward sets.

The concept behind the contest was to create models based around space exploration vehicles and planetary bases using between 150 and 250 pieces. 30 successful entries will now be selected by the LEGO Ideas judges, before a fan vote takes place from February 28 to March 6 to determine the overall best vehicle and base builds. The Grand Prize winners will then be announced on March 13, along with four lucky runners-up.

The Grand Prize winners get to walk away with copies of 10283 NASA Space Shuttle Discovery, 21340 Tales of the Space Age, 42158 NASA Mars Rover Perseverance, 31152 Space Astronaut and 42180 Mars Crew Exploration Rover. In addition, the successful vehicle and base models will be transformed into new LEGO Ideas Insiders reward sets, available at a future date.
