LEGO Ideas 21329 Fender Stratocaster available now

The latest LEGO Ideas set is now available at LEGO.com, giving budding musicians the chance to strum a tune with 21329 Fender Stratocaster.

It’s the 37th set to come out of the crowdsourcing platform, and the first LEGO Ideas product to offer a 2-in-1 model: the body of the guitar can be built in either standard black or fiesta red (in Fender lingo) using only the pieces that come in the box. (Any other colours are currently out of the question, though, thanks to the very specific parts required.)

Those 1,074 elements also build into a detailed replica of a ’65 Princeton Reverb amp, which even includes a full interior with wiring, circuitry and a speaker – going way beyond the original concept pitched by Tomáš Letanay in last year’s ‘Music to our Ears’ LEGO Ideas contest.

You can learn more about 21329 Fender Stratocaster in our detailed review, which dives deeper into the fascinating build on offer across both the instrument and amp. If you’ve ever strung a real-life guitar, you’ll find the construction process here very familiar.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
