LEGO Marvel minifigure upgrade needs four DC minifigures
The first LEGO Fantastic Four minifigures are missing some details, but upgrading them is possible, for a price and the cost of four DC minifigures.
The reveal of 76316 Fantastic Four vs. Galactus Construction Figure was met with some criticism regarding the set’s first Fantastic Four minifigures and the details that are missing. Aside from size issues regarding The Thing and Mr. Fantastic’s stilt-like legs, none of the minifigures feature dual-moulded legs, despite the movie costumes’ notable white boots.
Fixing the leg-based issue is entirely possible with existing official LEGO elements, but that doesn’t mean it’s an easy or inexpensive task.

MiniSuperHeroesToday has the upcoming LEGO Marvel set in hand and has discovered that, among other upgrades, the dark azure colour scheme of the four Fantastic Four minifigures is the same as Condiment King from The LEGO Batman Movie, who comes with dual-moulded white legs.
It’s not as easy as finding four of those minifigures and switching out the legs, though. This upgrade requires a LEGO sacrifice. The Condiment King’s only minifigure comes with underwear printing, and it’s suggested that you erase the printing manually, removing it from the element entirely.
Erasing the printing and swapping out the legs for the plain dark azure legs in the 76316 Fantastic Four vs. Galactus Construction Figure minifigures does make for a significant upgrade, but permanently removing the printing of a LEGO element might be challenging for some fans.

There’s also the cost of four Condiment King minifigures to consider. At the time of writing, a sealed copy of 70920 Eddhead Mech Food Fight will cost you an average of £44.32 on BrickLink, and the Condiment King minifigure alone is £22.31. Four of the latter would cost an average of £89.24.
There’s no doubt that the first LEGO Fantastic Four minifigures benefit immensely from the white boots, but pursuing such an upgrade isn’t easy right now. We can only hope that dual-moulded dark azure and white legs will appear in another minifigure, without printing, in the future. Thankfully, the YouTuber has showcased what it looks like until then.
For now, 76316 Fantastic Four vs. Galactus Construction Figure launches on June 1 for £54.99 in the UK, $59.99 in the US, and €59.99 in Europe.
