For those who have missed picking up a monthly Minibuild from LEGO Stores, the good news is they’re returning as virtual weekly challenges.
With in-person activities and events in LEGO Stores having been drastically cut back in the last few years, one of the victims of recent restrictions have been the monthly Minibuilds. In previous years, customers could pop into their local LEGO Store, pick up a Minibuild and either make it there and then or take it home to be constructed later.
Thanks to the new Creative Play Hub on the official online store, Minibuilds are back… with a twist. Now LEGO fans can take part in a virtual weekly building challenge from the comfort of their own homes. A new building theme will be added to the site each week, with downloadable PDF instructions available for free. This week’s simple models include a polar bear, frog and dinosaur.
Creators will need to use their own LEGO pieces to make each Minibuild and once they have, they can take a photograph of the model to show to a member of staff at their local LEGO Store. Builders will then be given a free LEGO DOTS Felt Craft pack as a reward for their creativity, while stocks last.
Fans will definitely want to check back on the Creative Play Hub each week to see which new themes and Minibuild instructions have been added.
