The Secret Life of LEGO Bricks’ pogo stick selling for eye-watering prices on eBay

The 3D-printed LEGO pogo stick that came as a special reward for a crowdfunded LEGO book is already lighting up the secondhand market.

Limited edition LEGO elements will always go for high prices on eBay (and even not-so-limited-edition minifigures). Unbound’s crowdfunded The Secret Life of LEGO Bricks, a comprehensive look at LEGO elements, offered a 3D-printed pogo stick as a reward to encourage people to pledge £90 during its money-raising stage.

In a similar style to the LEGO Group’s own 3D-printed duck, the part has picked up steam on the secondhand market. Despite the book only shipping out to crowdfunders from today (December 1), there are already three example of the pogo stick on eBay at the time of writing.

All three listings are selling for over $1,000, with the highest reaching $1,786.35. There seems to be some variation between colours, with both red and blue options available.

Two of the listings already had several watchers, highlighting the ever-present demand for limited-edition pieces. For a £90 investment at the crowdfunding stage of The Secret Life of LEGO Bricks, even selling for the lowest amount there of $1,190.90 would earn you 977% increase–plus you get the book as well. What’s more, listings like this are now the only way to get the pogo stick, as the crowdfunding for the book has now closed.
