LEGO reveals its top-performing themes for first half of 2021

The LEGO Group has named its most successful themes for the first half of 2021, with a mix of licensed and original product lines making the cut.

From a galaxy far, far away to the Wizarding World, The LEGO Group has revealed its top-performing themes as part of the financial report for the first half of 2021. The usual evergreen ranges were named amongst the selection, including LEGO CITY, Technic and Star Wars, both of which return after their top spot in the 2020 results.

However, not named as one of the top performers was LEGO Friends, making this the first year that the theme has not been on the prestigious list since it was first introduced in 2012. Taking that position instead are Harry Potter and Creator Expert, the latter of which is now dubbed LEGO for Adults.

The success of LEGO Harry Potter in the first half of the year over other themes may be surprising considering that the only available sets before June were 31201 Harry Potter Hogwarts Crests (which may fall under the LEGO Art banner), four Hogwarts Moments models and a trio of keyrings.

Meanwhile, Creator Expert saw the release of 10278 Police Station, the LEGO Botanical Collection, 10295 Porsche 911 and 10283 NASA Space Shuttle Discovery, explaining why the adult-focused theme is included in the list.
