LEGO Super Mario 71410 Character Packs – Series 5 fully revealed

The fifth series of LEGO Super Mario Character Packs has been officially revealed, confirming a few changes to the usual formula.

Get ready to add eight new figures to your LEGO Super Mario collection later this year, referencing plenty of previous games in the franchise, as 71410 Character Packs – Series 5 has been fully revealed with new images on LEGO.com.

For anyone not familiar with Super Mario’s many characters, these are, from left to right in the gallery below; Nabbit, a Purple Toad, Hammer Bro, Waddlewing, Toady, Baby Yoshi, Red Yoshi and Blue Shy Guy.

From these images, one change is immediately apparent. The series is no longer bling-bagged, but rather blind-boxed. That design difference has likely been implemented now that the LEGO Super Mario Character Packs have moved on from the four-stud wide bases and onto six-stud wide bases.

There are also only eight characters compared to the 10 included in the four previous series and the price has raised from £3.49 / $4.99 / €3.99 to £4.99 / $5.99 / €5.99.

71410 Character Packs – Series 5 and its changes will arrive on August 1, alongside a new wave of LEGO Super Mario sets introducing a new starter pack with Princess Peach.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
