LEGO Technic 42099 4×4 X-Treme Off-Roader obstacle course behind-the-scenes

Following the incredible LEGO Technic 42099 4×4 X-Treme Off-Roader obstacle course video, a behind-the-scenes video reveals how the brand new set was put through its paces.

Yesterday, Brick Fanatics shared the video from the LEGO Group that sees the newly released LEGO Technic 42099 4×4 X-Treme Off-Roader demonstrate its durability by tackling an obstacle course 30 metres up in the air, controlled from the ground. This second video reveals how the obstacle course designer used a huge mix of materials to design the challenging obstacle course around a construction crane.

As the video shows, the vehicle fell off the track a few times as the participating drivers struggled to navigate the treacherous course, with adverse weather leading to a break in the proceedings. Eventually, 42099 4×4 X-Treme Off-Roader  did make it to the end of the track – the video does not reveal just how many it attempts it took to get there though.

42099 4×4 X-Treme Off-Roader uses the new CONTROL+ app to allow users to drive the vehicle using an app. It was released alongside 42097 Compact Crawler Crane and 42098 Car Transporter (review).

LEGO Technic 42110 Land Rover Defender and 42100 Liebherr R 9800 are expected to arrive later this year.
