Local fans and collectors who are in the area on March 1 between 2pm and 4pm can purchase 42154 2022 Ford GT and get the model autographed by Reindl himself. The 1,466-piece build races into stores on the same day, alongside three other new LEGO Technic sets and is described as ‘a dream come true,’ by its creative mastermind.

A recent interview with the designer revealed some insights into the development process of the model, including the close collaboration with Ford and how the set was on Reindl’s bucket list.

“When I started here, it was on my bucket list to do the Ford GT as an official set,” he explains. “It’s one of my passion points and I’m a big fan of the car, so working on something that you truly love makes it a bigger responsibility.”

“I tried so many times and so many different approaches for all the subsections of the build – just to get the proportions and parts looking as close as possible to the real car. I was still changing bits on the front of the model the very last day before the approval!”

42154 2022 Ford GT launches on March 1, 2023 and is priced at £104.99 / $119.99 / €119.99. For more details on the LEGO Technic set, be sure to check out our in-depth review right here.
