LEGO The Legend of Zelda fans point out figures and price

The second LEGO The Legend of Zelda set is almost here, and fans online have been eager to react, including some concerns regarding the price.

Following in the footsteps of 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1, 77093 Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle is coming on March 1 for £99.99 / $129.99 / €119.99, and fans from the LEGO and The Legend of Zelda communities have been eager to share their reactions, from excitement to valid criticisms.

Similar to the initial reactions to 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 a couple of years ago, enthusiasts sharing their opinion of 77093 Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle include many who are ecstatic about the Ocarina of Time build, thanks in no small part to those two new minifigures.

There’s particularly strong excitement for the way the game mechanics and effects have been recreated in the set, including the fact that Link can comfortably somersault through Ganon’s legs. We went over many of the other mechanics recreated in the set in our recent comparison.

As PenPlays points out, the designer behind the upcoming set is the same as one of the first fan designs proposed for a LEGO The Legend of Zelda set over 10 years ago, noting that you should always follow your dreams. That’s an interesting use of language, considering that 77093 Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle was one of Talbott’s ‘biggest life goals’.

While there’s plenty of excitement for the second full LEGO The Legend of Zelda set, many on Facebook, Instagram, X and Reddit have shared some concerns over various aspects of the set, including comments that the overall profile of the build is underwhelming.

When compared to the larger and more expensive 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1, the second model doesn’t have as impressive a profile, but it is £160 more affordable and features some exclusive elements. Based on the source scene, 77093 Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle could have been bigger, but it doesn’t need to be. This hasn’t stopped some slightly sarcastic conversations from taking place on Reddit, though.

“Um, sorry, if the set doesn’t include all of the final battle, including 10,000 pieces to make a huge room of stained glass windows, then I am not interested,” states MissionCreeper.

“I know it was sarcasm, but I would prefer a massive set set in detailed ruins,” responds RomanceDawnOP.

The room with the walls of stained glass windows is notably another LEGO Ideas proposal that was ultimately rejected. An official model based on this scene would likely require a significant number of stickers to be fully accurate, whereas 77093 Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle appears to feature none.

Other concerned comments revolve specifically around the price of 77093 Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle at £99.99 / $129.99 / €119.99 for just over 1,000 pieces and three minifigures.

“For just 1,000 pieces and not a ton of minifigures, this seems like a Zelda tax that was higher than even the Mario tax was,” said mediocre-referee. “$90-100 would’ve felt better. Deku Tree was similarly high, but at least it was a more complex and versatile set.”

Other price-discussing comments on both the LEGO and The Legend of Zelda subreddits aren’t quite as worried about the cost, comparing it to the Pokémon models revealed earlier this week. Some can’t help but turn their gaze towards the hopeful future of this partnership, too.

“Why is it so difficult to just make an intricate Hyrule Castle?” queried Blue_Gamer18. “That’s all I’m asking for, and it’s something I’d very much consider buying, even at LEGO prices.”

While a third full LEGO The Legend of Zelda set has yet to be confirmed, 77093 Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle will be released on March 1, 2026. Don’t forget that 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 is due to retire soon, as well.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
