LEGOLAND Windsor adds biggest beast yet to its MYTHICA menagerie

The MYTHICA reveals show no sign of stopping as LEGOLAND Windsor unveils another massive build for the new land, almost matching the size of the colossal Chimera.

The LEGOLAND Windsor team took to social media earlier this week to continue the reveals of the beasts that will populate the new MYTHICA expansion. By now, we know of at least six of the models, one of which will be fan-designed thanks to a competition. The first of the lot was revealed as a Chimera made up of 109,522 pieces, something that this new model almost doubles.

The Hydra is the next mythical creature to be chosen by the creative minds at the resort with two of the huge heads revealed in a new Twitter post. Clocking in at 192,941 bricks, this is by far the largest of the builds to be revealed by the model designers at the resort and will surely be a centrepiece of the land. From what little we can see so far, it seems that some lizard-like eyes will be staring down at guests, whilst rows of scale adorn the long necks of the three-headed beast.

Considering the massive size of the model, it seems strange that the Chimera would receive it’s own video showcasing the full build while the Hydra has yet to be showcased in one. Hopefully, a much better look at the full scale of the model is on the horizon so we can see even more of this impressive feat.

This model will be one of many new builds in the MYTHICA expansion which will see new attractions brought to the park, including one that will be making it’s UK debut. The new land is scheduled to open later this year, just in time for LEGOLAND Windsor’s 25th anniversary.
