Light blue LEGO space air tanks will soon be much easier to find

LEGO space light blue air tanks will no longer be locked behind three-figure sets, according to a sneak peek of an upcoming magazine.

After being first introduced in LEGO Ideas 21359 Italian Riviera, and then seen again in LEGO DC 76300 Arkham Asylum, light blue air tanks are among the toughest LEGO space accessories to track down. However, that is set to change thanks to an early look at the next LEGO Batman magazine gift from bricky_news on Instagram.

The magazine is expected to include the very same Mr Freeze minifigure as he’s seen in 76300 Arkham Asylum – light blue air tank and all. Instead of paying a minimum of £249.99 / $299.99 / €279.99 for a set including the LEGO element, or shelling out as much as £72 / $94 on the secondhand market, you could pick it up for as little as £6.99 if you buy the magazine.

Even for those who don’t or can’t buy the magazine itself, the lower price should spill onto the secondhand market. Magazine gifts make it easier for sellers to get their hands on sought-after elements like the air tanks, making them less elusive and therefore cheaper, broadly speaking.

It’s worth also noting that, seeing as 21359 Italian Riviera isn’t a licensed set, we can probably expect to see the air tanks filter onto Pick a Brick eventually. With normal Pick a Brick service resumed around the world now, those who have been hankering to complete their light blue space minifigure should have their patience rewarded soon.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
