Marketing for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has restarted

The social media accounts for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga are posting again after a long hiatus, indicating that the game may be near.

At the time of writing, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is scheduled to release at some point in spring 2022, with no exact launch date given at this time. This is the result of the game being pushed back multiple times due to the Coronavirus Pandemic and possibly other factors, though the specific reasoning hasn’t been confirmed.

The previous release date was spring 2021 with the marketing campaign for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker taking a hiatus earlier in 2021. In September, the Twitter account for the game was active again but only using footage from previously released trailers, following the latest look at it being released just before at Gamescom Opening Night Live.

In recent weeks, a pair of tweets have been posted with brand new gameplay from LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, suggesting that the marketing campaign may be in full form again ahead of the planned launch next year.

The first featured Chewbacca standing on Kashyyk to celebrate the Wookiee holiday Life Day. The short clip repeats after five seconds, giving us only a brief look at a corner of Kashyyk and Chewbacca’s digital minifigure, featuring scuffs and dirt to add to the realism.

The second emphasised the natural details on the digital pieces even further with a LEGO Tauntaun and hooded Han Solo exploring the icy wastes of Hoth. Snow has stuck to the fur and saddle and you can even see the breath from the creature as it touches the cold air. A quick look at Hoth can also be seen in the background with a shining light and a flag.

Provided there are no further delays, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga launches in spring 2022.
