This Middle-earth character has the most LEGO minifigures

With 15 minifigures included with LEGO Icons 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell, which Middle-earth character now boasts the most?

Anticipation is building for the arrival of 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell next month, with the massive LEGO Icons set certain to be a highly-desirable model. As well as offering fans of Middle-earth a detailed recreation of the location from Peter Jackson’s epic Tolkien saga, the build also manages to pack in 15 minifigures (plus five grey Elf statues), representing many fan favourite characters.

10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell includes Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Boromir, Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin, Elrond, Arwen, Bilbo, Gloin and two generic Elves. New prints, weapons and pieces to make sitting down that much easier all make the minifigures stand out from previous iterations.

With so many characters packed into one set, it may be surprising to learn that it’s actually one of the smallest that has appeared the most times in LEGO minifigure form. Bilbo Baggins himself has the honour of having been recreated six times now as a minifigure across a range of LEGO The Hobbit and LEGO The Lord of the Rings sets, with Gandalf the Grey a close second.

They include 5002130 Bilbo Baggins polybag, 79000 Riddles for The Ring, 79003 An Unexpected Gathering, 79004 Barrel Escape, 79013 Lake-town Chase, 79018 The Lonely Mountain, a microscale Bag End San Diego Comic-Con 2013 exclusive, and with a Target special edition of The Hobbit – An Unexpected Journey DVD and Blu-ray.

As the Tolkien character who was there at the start of both The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, it seems somewhat fitting then that a new variant of Bilbo Baggins himself should also be present in 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell, complete with dual-moulded legs and frightening face.

10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell will launch for VIP members from March 5, 2023 priced at £429.99 / $499.99 / €499.99. The set will also include a free copy of 40630 Frodo & Gollum during VIP early access. It will then receive a wider launch on March 8 for everyone else, but without the free BrickHeadz set.
