More details on rumoured LEGO Batman summer 2024 sets

More details have surfaced on the rumoured LEGO Batman summer 2024 line-up, including piece counts for the two Batman: The Animated Series sets.

The LEGO Group is said to be turning to the seminal ‘90s show Batman: The Animated Series for its next wave of DC sets, which will apparently translate to a new Batcave and Batmobile. (No prizes for seeing those coming.) Alongside 76272 Batcave (a 4+ set) and 76274 Batman: The Animated Series Batmobile, the relatively light wave of summer 2024 LEGO Batman sets is rumoured to include 76270 Batman Mech, 76273 Batpod and 40748 8-in-1 Batman.

Those initial reports from brick_clicker only included set names, prices and a tentative summer 2024 release date, but Instagram user exabrickslegogo_ has now added piece counts and firmer release windows for each of the five sets. Four are said to launch in June, while the presumed BrickHeadz set 40748 8-in-1 Batman is believed to follow a month later in July 2024.

Piece counts range from 140 parts in 76270 Batman Mech to 713 elements in 76273 Batpod, the latter of which is rumoured to include a buildable Batman figure. 76274 Batman: The Animated Series Batmobile comes in at just 435 pieces for a rumoured $59.99, which places it roughly equal in size to last year’s 76224 Batmobile: Batman vs. The Joker Chase but with a $12 price bump. It’s said to come with Batman, Harley Quinn and Mr. Freeze.

The 4+ Batcave is rumoured to weigh in at 180 pieces, meanwhile, which is 30 more than 2014’s 10672 Batman: Defend the Batcave. Batman, Batgirl and Joker are reported to come with that one. Perhaps the most interesting titbit in exabrickslegogo_’s list is that 76273 Batpod is apparently a 12+ set, which suggests a greater level of detail and build complexity than the rest of the wave.

Given 76259 Batman Construction Figure is only an 8+ set, the higher age mark for the rumoured 2024 build could mean that we’re looking at a display model constructed entirely from smaller elements, rather than the mix of larger System and Technic pieces used for the constraction-adjacent superhero figures. We’re very much reading between the lines at this point, though.

As always, it’s best to take all this rumoured information with a pinch of salt until we get official confirmation from the LEGO Group. For now, check out the latest list of LEGO Batman summer 2024 sets below.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
