New LEGO Ideas challenge asks fans for sets inspired by the ’90s
The LEGO Ideas team is once again asking for nostalgic builds as part of a new challenge, this time focused on the ’90s.
As teased earlier in the week when the LEGO Ideas team announced more than 250 new approved IPs, there’s a new LEGO Ideas challenge for fan designers to take part in. The task of the Opening Act is to submit a set between 1,000 and 5,000 pieces inspired by ’90s movies and TV shows, in a similar vein to the ’80s IP challenge from earlier this year.
Entries to the LEGO Ideas ’90s challenge are open now and you have until January 6 to submit your designs via this page, although it’s recommended to submit at least two days earlier than that to allow time for any changes. The designs need to be based on classic IPs but only ones on the recently expanded approved list. You can check for IPs
In the same announcement, the LEGO Ideas tea also announced a special challenge in collaboration with Target, kicking off on January 7. This one asks for a smaller build of less than 1,000 pieces, once again based on an iconic ’90s movie or TV series. Previous winning entries to LEGO x Target challenges have ended up being LEGO sets exclusive to the retailer and the LEGO Group in the US.
