Seven retiring LEGO sets to prioritise for LEGO Insiders Weekend 2023
With dozens of LEGO sets gone for good at the end of 2023, now is the time to pick up any left on your list during the double points event – and some at a discount.
LEGO Insiders Weekend 2023 is here and (after some technical hiccups) has a variety of discounts, free gifts, and the all-important double points. For every LEGO purchase, LEGO Insiders (formerly VIPs) will earn double points, equating to 10% cashback instead of the usual 5%. That means now is a great time to pick up some of the more expensive sets on your wishlist – especially those that won’t be around for much longer.
Dozens of LEGO sets are set to retire in just over a month, including some long-term favourites throughout the LEGO community. Here’s a look at seven retiring LEGO sets that are well worth picking up before they’re gone – and some that are included in the limited-time discounts.
7 – 10276 Colosseum
LEGO Icons 10276 Colosseum is an enormous recreation of the Roman ruin. At 9,036 pieces, it’s one of the largest LEGO sets on the market – but will soon be gone for good. You can currently earn a whopping 7,600 points, almost enough to instantly earn you a £50 voucher on your next LEGO purchase. Plus, you’ll instantly qualify for both GWPs (40601 Magisto’s Workshop and 40602 Winter Market Stall), giving you three sets for the price of one in just a few clicks.
6 – 10255 Assembly Square
Undoubtedly the most iconic Modular Building on the market, 10255 Assembly Square is a must-have for any LEGO city builder. The first of its kind to be built on 32×48 base, giving it 50% more real estate than other Modular Buildings. What’s more, you can currently buy 10255 Assembly Square for £50 / $60 / €60 by redeeming a discount code in the Rewards Centre, scoring the set for less but still earning double points and earning yourself both GWPs.
5 – 31203 World Map
As the largest LEGO set ever in terms of studs, adding 31203 World Map to your collection is taking a bit of LEGO history. Plus, it hangs on the wall so won’t even take up any more valuable shelf space. During the LEGO Insiders Weekend, you’ll earn 3,440 points on your purchase, more than enough for an instant £20 discount on your next LEGO order.
4 – 75309 Republic Gunship
With 75334 Coruscant Guard Gunship now available to buy, there’s apparently only room for one gunship at a time. That means the end of 2023 will be time to say goodbye to the iconic 75309 Republic Gunship. Like 10255 Assembly Square, it’s eligible for a tidy discount during the LEGO Insiders Weekend, bringing the price down to just £294.99 / $339.99 / €349.99. Having already briefly sold out in the United States, this is definitely not a set to wait on.
3 – 10270 Bookshop
Another retiring Modular Building, 10270 Bookshop is a cosy homage to autumn, with orange-leafed trees, cosy jumpers, and warming vibes throughout. You’ll earn 2,720 points by buying it before the end of the weekend, making it an even more attractive purchase. Plus, you’ll instantly qualify for 40602 Winter Market Stall, a free gift that pairs perfectly with the seasonal vibes of the LEGO Icons set.
2 – 21325 Medieval Blacksmith
Next up is one of the most popular LEGO Ideas sets ever: 21325 Medieval Blacksmith. A long-standing sight on Brick Fanatics‘ Top 20 list, the rustic set is packed full of charming medieval details, packaged up in a stunningly aesthetic build. You’ll earn 2,560 points by picking it up during the weekend, but we’d definitely recommend moving quickly for this fan-favourite model.
1 – 75288 AT-AT
Journey to Hoth with this 1,167-piece recreation of the iconic Imperial machine. 75288 AT-AT is retiring at the end of the year, making now one of the last chances to pick up the more reasonable version of the AT-AT. Earn yourself 2,400 points and 40602 Winter Market Stall at the same time and you’ve got yourself a deal worth trekking to the snowy wilderness of Hoth for.

- I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
absolutely delightful I love model building kits
Where is the discount for Assembly Square? It doesn’t appear on either the rewards page or the 10255 page itself. Otherwise I’d love to get that set.
Exactly. It’s very vague and I can’t find anything on that. It’s still 300 bucks in my cart
