Six things we’d like to see in more LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog sets

LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog is rumoured to continue in 2024 with more models and BrickHeadz, and there’s a lot of ground for the theme to cover.

According to brick_clicker, Sonic the Hedgehog will be back next year with new LEGO sets and BrickHeadz. Keep in mind that this is only a rumour at the time of writing and it should be taken with caution.

While we’ve yet to get our hands on the first LEGO Sonic The Hedgehog sets, launching in a matter of weeks on August 1, there are a few things we’d like to see in the theme’s future. It has already been confirmed that more sets are possible depending on the demand.

6 – Shadow and Knuckles

LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog expands on the initial Sonic minifigure from LEGO Dimensions, introducing Amy, Tails and Dr. Eggman.

However, there are still several characters that we’ve yet to see in the theme. Condensing the extensive list, we’d like to see Shadow and Knuckles get minifigures first.

5 –Zones beyond Green Hill

The first five LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog sets, launching on August 1, focus entirely on Green Hill. However, that’s far from the only zone in the world of Sonic the Hedgehog

From Chemical Plant to Studiopolis, Green Hill will always be an iconic part of Sonic the Hedgehog, but it doesn’t have to be the only location in the LEGO sets.

4 – Specific game Easter eggs

Provided the rumours are true, the introduction of LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog could be out of the way ahead of a second year.

That might make it a good time for some more specific Easter eggs within sets. Examples could include a sword referencing Sonic and the Black Knight or a brick-built car for his various racing games, just as we had in LEGO Dimension.

3 – More bosses

Multiple Dr. Eggman boss builds are included in the first wave of Sonic the Hedgehog, but he’s far from the only villain the Blue Blur has faced.

From Zavok to Metal Sonic and even Chaos, the villains of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise have a lot to offer the LEGO theme.

2 – Dr. Eggman BrickHeadz

Rumour has it that the first Sonic the Hedgehog BrickHeadz are coming on September 1. Provided there are plans for Sonic and Tails BrickHeadz, there’s another character who would fit right in.

Dr. Eggman’s first brick-built iteration might not have been what some were expecting (now officially recognised by the LEGO Group) but the proportions of BrickHeadz might suit the character better

1 – Super Sonic

Another minifigure that the theme needs eventually is Super Sonic, the powered-up version of Sonic that can be activated by gathering the various Chaos Emeralds.

LEGO Dimensions featured the character and the Ideas and theme’s sets have teased the emeralds, but there’s no physical iteration of Super Sonic yet.
