Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 could hint at potential minifigure designs

The latest episode of Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 could offer a potential hint at new LEGO minifigure designs to come at some point.

The second season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch is currently in full swing, with episode 3 of the hit animated series now available to stream on Disney+. ‘The Solitary Clone’ is primarily a Crosshair-centric story, with Clone Force 99 completely absent, although it does feature the return of fan favourite character, Commander Cody. (Possible spoilers)

Known for his distinctive orange and white Clone Trooper armour, Cody now serves the fledgling Empire and sports a redesigned grey and white look. A Phase II version of the character appeared in last year’s 75337 AT-TE Walker, as one of a line-up of seven minifigures included with the 1,082-piece set. The revised look of Commander Cody in the latest episode of Star Wars: The Bad Batch is certainly distinctive enough to warrant a new minifigure design at some point, even though it took the LEGO Group 17 years to bring us the current version of the character.

Also making an appearance in ‘The Solitary Clone’ are new Imperial Stormtrooper designs, this time based on the original sketches of legendary Star Wars concept artist, Ralph McQuarrie. Whilst it seems that it’s still clones who are wearing the white suits, the Stormtrooper armour continues to evolve, with a new helmet design that would once again be enough justification for more LEGO minifigures at some point. However, do note that’s just pure speculation and wish-fulfilment on our part and not a reflection of any future plans the LEGO Group may have.
