The LEGO Ideas ’80s contest is being delayed
While today was supposed to mark the next stage of the highly-anticipated LEGO Ideas ’80s contest, the team have delayed the challenge.
The crowd vote for the challenge was intended to start today, revealing a maximum of five models one of which would be picked for a future LEGO Ideas set based on Intellectual Property. It has now been shared on the platform that the team need more time to judge 308 submissions and decide which are moving forward, delaying the crowd vote until April 26.
Thankfully, the challenge is still going ahead as planned but it will be a bit longer until we find out the five projects that could be future sets. Submissions sorted by most popular in the challenge include ones based on Thundercats, The Goonies and The Smurfs.
While we wait for the LEGO Ideas team to finish judging, two other contests are currently accepting submissions including a Formula 1 challenge and another that will result in a future gift-with-purchase.
