Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 3 opener teases rumoured LEGO set
The first episode of Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 3 gives us a solid glimpse at the source of a rumoured LEGO Star Wars 2023 set.
A total of three LEGO Star Wars sets based on the new season of The Mandalorian are currently rumoured to be on the way this year, including 75346 Pirate Snubfighter, 75348 Mandalorian Fang Fighter vs. TIE Interceptor, and a product that so far only has a number in 75361. The first episode of Season 3 debuted on Disney+ on March 1, and one of those rumoured sets featured heavily towards the end of its 37-minute runtime.
Spoilers follow for The Mandalorian Chapter 17.
The Apostate reintroduced us to Din Djarin and Grogu – freshly reunited following the events of The Book of Boba Fett – as the former sets out on a quest to redeem himself in the eyes of his fellow Mandalorians, who have disowned him for removing his helmet. To win their respect, he needs to travel to the mines of Mandalore. And in true Mandalorian style, that first means a separate journey to his old stomping ground of Nevarro.

It’s there that Din helps High Magistrate Greef Karga to confront pirates hoping to turn a local school into a drinking den, and ends up gunning four of them down. The lead pirate (who dresses, sounds and acts like a pirate in the very traditional sense of the word) later tracks Mando down en route to visiting Bo-Katan, luring him into the path of his boss Gorian Shard, who can only be described as ‘pirate Swamp Thing’.
What’s of more concern to LEGO Star Wars fans, though, are the ships the pirates are flying (and exploding in). These are presumably the basis for 75346 Pirate Snubfighter, or whatever the final model – if it exists – ends up being called. The set is said to come in at 285 parts for €34.99, a piece count and price point that feel about right for the size of the ships seen on screen.
Exactly how many characters could be included in such a set remains to be seen, but you’ve got to imagine that at least the lead pirate would be present, which means a brand new LEGO Star Wars Nikto minifigure. Otherwise, we reckon sales of 75325 The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter may just be about to spike – the snubfighter is going to need something to battle, after all.
Remember that 75346 Pirate Snubfighter is still just a rumour for now, so may yet not materialise as expected. But if it does, reports suggest we’ll see it on shelves on May 1. For now, here’s a quick reminder of the current LEGO Star Wars slate for 2023…

Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
