‘Top secret’ LEGO NINJAGO news coming later this week

Skybound Entertainment will reveal the first details of its new LEGO comic book series later this week – and it looks certain to involve NINJAGO to some degree.

Co-creator of the NINJAGO TV series Tommy Andreasen has tweeted details on Skybound’s ‘top secret’ LEGO panel at this week’s Skybound Xpo, which will involve the world premiere of the brand’s first LEGO comic book series. And while the panel description doesn’t explicitly refer to NINJAGO, Tommy captioned it with: “Exciting #Ninjago news coming!”

That all but confirms the new comic book will feature NINJAGO in some capacity, although whether it’s an all-encompassing series that covers multiple in-house LEGO themes, or will focus solely on NINJAGO – there’s definitely enough lore there to warrant it – remains to be seen. At the moment, Skybound simply says it’s been ‘building a brand-new comic world brick by brick’.

We’ll find out more details at 6.45pm UK time on Friday, October 29, when Skybound Xpo’s LEGO panel gets underway. Appearing alongside Tommy on the panel are writer/artist Tri Vuong, Skybound Editor-in-Chief Sean Mackiewicz, The Secret Life of LEGO Bricks author Daniel Konstanski, Hayley Wolfe and NINJAGO producer Tommy Kalmar.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
