WATCH: LEGO Art 31208 Hokusai – The Great Wave does something interesting

The upcoming LEGO Art 31208 Hokusai – The Great Wave is an interesting innovation for the theme, blending two styles of models in one.

Our second YouTube and TikTok short for today (lucky you) focuses on one specific detail of 31208 Hokusai – The Great Wave that you might have spotted, but not recognised.

Launching on January 1, 2023, 31208 Hokusai – The Great Wave is an innovation for LEGO art, combining the single-stud mosaic aspect of most of the theme’s range, a style that started it, with the 3D element seen in 31206 The Rolling Stones.

Be aware that the model doesn’t stick out of the frame quite as far as the build in LEGO Ideas Vincent van Gogh – The Starry Night. However, it can still be hung on a wall with the same piece integrated into the frame. Those pieces that extend beyond the usual proportions of LEGO Art include some unique elements for the theme such as foliage and birds

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
